Cocoalicious: Healthy Indulgence

Place all the ingredients in your blender jug. Using a pestle and mortar, crush the cocoa nibs and add last. Alternatively, adding whole cocoa nibs last and blitz for about one minute at high speed, then for another minute at half the speed to ensure they are properly ground.

A recent study published in the British Medical Journal claims that dark chocolate has blood pressure and cholesterol lowering effects. Cocoa nibs are simply pieces of the cocoa bean, raw, unheated and therefore full of undamaged goodness. They are like 100 percent dark chocolate, so they have a slightly bitter, yet deeply rich chocolate flavour. Raw coconut oil is a source of medium chain triglycerides, which have been shown to promote a reduction in abdominal obesity. So having this nutritious, “chocolicious” shake for lunch or dinner can help you take inches off your waist. Enjoy!
